The question: Do all living creatures really exist in pairs?

The answer:
No, not all living creatures exist in pairs as there are many creatures that reproduce asexually, and exist with no males:

1. There are certain species of lizards named Cnemidophorus where no males have been found. All members of those species are females, and reproduce asexually through what is called parthenogenesis, meaning reproduction from an ovum without fertilization.
